I can’t flea bomb or anything because I am 8 months pregnant and I have a two year old in the home. Are there natural ways of getting rid of fleas?

Some friend! I don’t know of any other way to get rid of fleas than to spray or bomb. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to even get rid of your furniture such as sofas, beds and anything they can breed in once they take over. Take a vacation and bomb the place while you’re away then have someone clean up before you return.

Unless your best friend is a dog or cat, it’s unlikely they brought fleas into your home.
At any rate, if they’ve only been present a short time, they haven’t had time to propagate much and fill your carpet pile with eggs for the new generations.
It’s a problem that you are pregnant, and with a young child in the house, because the most effective methods for getting rid of them involve a pesticide, best applied by fogging, which would require your evacuation from the premises for 6-24 hours to avoid exposure to yourself and family.
You might be able to get by for a short time with some vigorous vacuuming and the sprinkling of some borax into the carpet. This will reduce but probably not eliminate the problem, and can buy you some time until you can treat by fogging later if it remains necessary.
If the problem persists, you should simply plan a weekend away, during which your home gets treated safely, and you can return knowing that the problem has been fully resolved. As long as the house is ventilated and surfaces cleaned after the fogging treatment, there is no health threat to you or your children.

buy 20 mule team borax(you can get it at wal mart, vons, a lot of places) and sprinke it on your carpet and leave it on there for about a week (i currently have borax on my carpets and its been there for 2 days now and i haven’t seen a flea since i put it on.). and on your floors, mop it with a mixture of about 1/2 water and 1/2 borax powder and let it dry, then like 2 days later do it again. then after 2 days mop with lysol and you can have a flea-less house. and sprinkle borax on your couches too.
Oh yeah and just make sure your two year old doesn’t eat it. I have a 1yr old and a 4yr old and i have managed to make sure they don’t digest it.
It will take work but it pays off when there are no more fleas. 🙂
    Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Unsure how to get rid of them from the carpet as you are pregnant and have a little one,
but if the cat has been on your bed you can wash all bedding and pillows with cat flea shampoo this is safe to use and does the trick(don’t worry it smells nice)i do this and it kills the fleas and the eggs before they get a chance to hatch!
so you wont get bitten in bed.

Yikes. We had fleas when I was pg with my first daughter. We bought some cheap spray and sprayed (hubby and I stayed at my parents for a few days), but they came back. The only reliable way I know is to have a professional spray. 🙂 Good luck!
