We just got a Bouvier des Flandurs pup that I want to train for herding my goats and hopefully be able to do competitive herding in the future he is only 8wks but I’m sure training him for herding is just like any other training that the younger I start the better off I am. So does anyone know any good resources. The woman I bought him from didn’t use them for herding so she can’t really help me.

I have a pretty smart dog. He’s just a mutt, but he’s definitly smart and has a good personality. Are there any tricks I can teach him, or any websites that have instructions on how to teach a dog new tricks? Nothing fancy, I’m not going to enter him in any contests or anything. No, absolutely not. I’ve found myself an excellent local trainer (with 20+ years of experience and very impressive credentials), who helps me by giving advise and coaching that is specific to me and MY dog. I pay HIM an annual membership fee for training assistance/coaching, apprenticing, and an all-access pass to his brain!

The ones I found so far want to sell you books and CDs on the subject with no clue on some basic instructions. I plan to buy a book but want to first just get an idea if it will work with my dog.
