I have a 1 year old Golden Retriever and my family wants me to get it trained. Shall I send it for training or train it myself?

That’s a personal preference. I personally would want to be around when my dog was trained. This allows me to work with my dog and understand what and how things should be done. A chance to ask questions. Sending a dog for training is only half the problem. They don’t come back with a remote control or instruction manual. So for you to get the most bang for your buck I would suggest you attend training sessions with your dog. It would be the best for the whole family.
Hope this helps
Good luck
regardless of what type of training you pay for its all about training you. so be ready for lots of homework and work outside of the class. the classes aren’t automatic training for the dog.
in my experience the training classes don’t really help and are really expensive. i would recommend buying Cesar millans books on dog psychology. they have a lot to teach you and its really helped us work with our pup and train him to be submissive. id highly recommend this over any training aids first.
i guess its best to send your dog for training, you can get dog training services on 88db, just get the professional to train your dog, hope this helps
I would defietly train it myself. This dog is still young and i think that all you need to do is go on the internet and search for ideas and different ways to train your dog to do something. I do it all the time, im saving money and my dog is sure enjoying it more than schooling
yourself 🙂 just do a lot of research online to learn how to teach whatever you want to teach it.
but! going to a training class that has other dogs would be good for socializing your dog.
really it doesn’t matter which, but if you’ve got the money go for the training school where you go with your dog and learn from an instructor.
training your dog is excellent bonding time.
Your family should sign up for a training class together. You need your dog to realize that s/he should listen to you, your spouse, your children, etc. Having a good trainer around will help you troubleshoot any issues that arise. Additionally, it will help you break down the steps on how to progress your dog. If you get an experienced trainer, s/he has come across a variety of dogs so s/he may be able to figure out a way that your dog is best trained; for ex, some dogs are fearful of the clicker sound.
Training classes are fun for you and your dog. Additionally, if it is a group class, you will be socializing your dog with other dogs and people in a controlled environment. Our dog loved training because he got to romp around with other dogs. Good luck!
i trained my pup pitbull by myself..
its not so hard..
try by yourself first. if not then send him out…
try to train him yourself give it about 2 to 4 months and if your not seeing any progress then try to put him in a class some dogs can be easily trained while others you need some help and cant do yourself
