We just moved and I found fleas in my home! we don’t have pets but the people who lived here before us had a dog. What do I do. Yuck! Help!

I deal with this every day. You’re going to have to call an exterminator. Sorry. Nothing you buy OTC will take care of it because you cannot buy anything redisual without a pest control license. The problem with fleas is that nothing can penetrate the egg. If you bomb or spray you will kill the adults but when the eggs hatch you will fleas again. A pest control professional will spray a residual chemical that will kill the fleas as they hatch.
    Good Luck.
P.S. Vacuum alot and throw your vacuum cleaner bag away, away from the house OR vacuum with a little talcum powder.

Spray and vacuum, spray and vacuum, they will eventually go away. Like ants, they are a pain!!

Set off a smoke bomb bug killer for fleas, then vacuum like crazy. Or have an exterminator come in and spray for you as a one time thing. They don’t do that much anymore since vets have such good medicine for keeping them off pets. Good luck!

    Boy can I sympathize!
Sprinkle borax on your carpet and furniture, then vacuum after about 20 minutes. And keep vacuuming every day for about 2 weeks so you’ll get the newly-hatched fleas before they lay eggs. If you think they’ve gotten into your bedding and curtains, wash them. That should take care of the problem.
    Good luck!

Call around to vets near you. You need to purchase a can of flea/flea egg fog. Make sure it has both. Sometime you have to have two different cans. One for adult fleas and one for eggs. If you do not kill both you will be retreating in an few weeks when the eggs tin your carpet hatch out. The cans will tell you have many to purchase based on the sq footage of your home and if it has more levels. Remove all food on counters and anything that you have in your bath that you use orally IE; toothbrush, water cup. Make sure all windows are closed and your air is turned off. Follow the instructions and do not enter you home earlier than the instructions say. You should be able to return in approx 4 to 5 hours. Wipe off all the counters when you return and I washed all my bedspreads pillows. Hope one time will work for you.

pore boiling water over them and then vacuum them all up or get flea powder and pore it over them then vacuums that up
