We recently let my cat stay with a friend while we were out of town, and the cat came back with fleas. We have given the cat a couple of good baths with flea shampoo, but seem to cant get all of the fleas of of him. We also have fleas in the carpet that will jump on us if we are on the floor too long. How do we get rid of those too?

Go to the vet and get flea medicine Advantage, This will get rid of the fleas on the cat within 48 hours. For your carpet, sprinkle flea powder on the carpet and leave it for a day. If you have to, put some sheets down to walk on. Vacumn well the next day. I have 5 cats, plus at the time 1 dog, all infested with fleas , within 2 days all was gone.

The safest and cheapest method of getting rid of fleas is to use a mixture of boric acid and salt. The powder should be sprayed on carpets, bedding and areas frequented by pets. More information on getting rid of fleas is available at http://pests.in/fleas.html

DO THIS! go to a pet store or a plant nursery and get yourself a 1 pound bag of SEVEN Dust. your fleas will kick the door down to get out and will not come back.line your baseboards with it as well as your yard. i have had dogs all my life and this stuff is only 5 dollars. nothing is better than this to run those fleas etc. outta town.

Although I have had numerous cats in years gone by, I never had a problem with fleas on cats,to treat a carpet, sprinkle powdered boric acid on the carpet and use a carpet rake to work the chemical into the fibers. This should totally irradicate any fleas in the carpet without harmful insecticides.
