My cat goes out every once in a while, and I’m not sure if she has fleas, so i don’t want to take her to the vet, but IF she does how do i get rid of em?

I would take her to the vet and have her properly treated for this….there are too many products that are over the counter that say they treat fleas and most don’t work very well and some have actually KILLED people’s cats.

There are several flea treatment/preventatives available that are over-the-counter. Revolution, however, is a prescription medication & doesnt control ticks very well. So if there are also tick problems, my suggestion is Frontline Plus. It takes care of the ticks, as well as the flea prevention. It’s safe, and should cause any problems. Flea collars arent effective & can pose a potential choking hazard if she were to get caught on something.

Well, there are the common flea medicines, of course. I use Advantage for cats and it works great. You just put it on them once a month and it keeps fleas and ticks away.
If you want a cheaper, more natural way to keep them at bay, try putting some teatree oil on the nape of her neck. You can get it at a local drugstore.

FRONTLINE PLUS IS GREAT FOR CATS. YOU CAN BUY IT AT THE VET OR MOST PET SUPPLY STORES. ALTHOUGH, I PREFER REVOLUTION BECAUSE IT ALSO CONTROLS TICKS, FLEA LARVA & EAR MITES. I GET IT FOR $13.00 AT THE VET, BUT HAVEN’T FOUND IT AT A PET STORE.

Get some Frontline sachets & apply 1 sachet on the back of neck parting the fur and use VeTKEM spray on her bedding & on carpets & the fleas will go. This should be done regularly for maximum prevention, check label for frequency.

You can be proactive and keep fleas off of your cat by putting Frontline on him. Very easy and effective, and can be purchased over the counter at vet offices or pet supply stores.

If you don’t want to spend ANY money, sift thru her fur with your finger tips and pick them off yourself one by one. This also doubles as bonding time and gives your cat a nice massage to boot!

a flea collar for cats (mine has one on handy just in case), general medications for “no more fleas” for cats, a flea shampoo for cats gets rid of them.

get some stuff at the supermarket (about 7 quid) and just squeeze the liquid between the cats shoulder blades :]
