I have 2 kittens, they are both about 5 months old. They are indoor cats only, never have been outside since we got them. What is the safest, yet most effective way to kill the fleas and eggs? Do I also need to fog the house, to kill any fleas in the carpet?

The absolute best way would be to get a prescription from your vet for “Revolution” or “Advantage” that you put on the back of the cat’s necks once a month. It kills fleas, ticks, worms, ear mites–everything but the kitty!
Your vet can give you a one year prescription that you can fill at http://www.valleyvet.com for the best price that I have found.
After you treat the cats, try using a spray can of flea killer before “bombing” the house. Depending on the size of the infestation you might get away with less than a full house bomb.
If not then you will have to follow the instructions on the can of insecticide bomb and do your whole home. But let’s face facts, you can’t live with fleas and you must get rid of them.
    Good luck ;-))

i have 3 cats and 1 dog and the cats are inside/outside and we use frontline. It takes care of fleas and ticks, so incase they get outside, the ticks shouldn’t get on them. It is applied to the back of the neck once a month, and none of my cats care at all except being woken up from a nap. Sorry but i dont know how to take care of fleas in the carpet, but maybe you could get a special carpet shampoo to get rid of the fleas and eggs.

Advantage, Frontline, Program, there are many now a days, but don’t buy the flea drops that are sold in Walmart or places like that they can kill your cat. Go online to entirelypets.com and order from them, they are the cheapest I have found.
